Update
October 2026 update
Coming next (not released yet)
- Leafcutter mound vents, and a new Air view in the nest
- Full maps at full zoom-out, every plant included, starting with the desert
- Grass and flowers that stand up in 3D when you turn the view
Rainforest and desert overhaul
- Desert at true size: prickly pears, barrel cacti, yuccas, agaves, mesquite
- Giant rainforest trees rebuilt: solid trunks, buttresses, real stilt-palm roots
- Every species' larvae and pupae, now in 3D
Ant wars and real enemies
- Each species fights the way it does in the wild, or not at all if it isn't recorded doing so
- Real enemies: army ants raid leafcutters and big-headed ants, and other ants keep honeypot ants pinned inside their nest
- Living skies: butterflies, flies, bees and midges, each flying its own way
Every ant redrawn
- Necks and legs on every ant, all 14 species, every caste
- Males drawn as males, in their real colours and sizes
New look
- Loam Colony logo on the loading screens
- New "dry dust" interface: warm earth tones, grain, ragged edges
- Phone layout reworked to give the game view more room
Website launched (9 October)

- "Let the workers decide": the colony shares out jobs on its own
- Army ants march off to a new forest when they move camp
- Fungus disease, with defences to evolve
Living forests
- Forest floor plants, light through the canopy, vines up the trunks
- Trees at true size for every habitat
- Colonies range as far as their real kind does
